The larger pilot jets are recommended if, when tuning the XJR 1200 and 1300 up to model year 2001, the mixture is too lean, the idle is difficult to set and the idle mixture screw has to be turned out too far, or can no longer regulate the mixture adequately. Larger pilot jets should then be used to provide a richer carburettor setting in the lower range.
