This chain length is assigned to all motorcycle models fitted as standard with a 520-pitch, 112-link chain.

The world has long been waiting for a strong, long-lasting motorcycle drive chain. REGINA, the traditional chain manufacturer based in northern Italy, has now made that wish a reality. This new carbon-coated motorcycle chain brings a product to market that can meet every wish. Durability comparable to the strongest chains in Regina's range, maintenance-free use – meaning no more chain lubrication – and therefore improved environmental compatibility are the major benefits of this innovative new chain. The chain can already be ordered at extra cost as a factory accessory on BMW's top S 1000 RR and S 1000 R models. This can certainly be seen as a sign of quality, as the S 1000 RR produces well over 200 BHP. Its quality is therefore proven! A huge advantage is that these chains do not require specially coated front or rear sprockets. No chain spray needs to be applied either, considerably reducing maintenance. Nor does any flung-off chain grease end up in the environment. Service life should also benefit considerably, as many chains fail through insufficient care. Regina even claims a lower coefficient of friction for this High-Performance HPE chain, allowing more engine power to reach the rear wheel. No lubrication and increased performance are strong arguments for this chain. The chain is available. It was initially offered in 525 pitch, but because it has proved so successful, the 520 chain has now followed. Perhaps the 530 chain will follow in 2023 too; let's wait and see.
