Belt drive conversion Yamaha XJR 1300 RP06 (2002–2003)

If you have always found regular chain lubrication a nuisance, or are tired of constantly cleaning chain grease off the wheel and motorcycle, I can warmly recommend the belt drive conversion for the Yamaha XJR 1300 RP06. As well as considerably reducing maintenance, the conversion noticeably improves the riding feel.

The major advantage over a conventional chain drive is the complete absence of play in the drivetrain. On-off throttle reactions and jerking become a thing of the past. Power is transmitted more evenly and gear changes become much smoother, as the gears engage more cleanly without drivetrain play.

Finish & options

Some of the photos show painted pulleys or polished guide flanges. These finishes are not included as standard and are available at extra cost. If interested, please enquire beforehand by email with precise colour details.

Conversion notes

• The rear brake caliper hanger and front sprocket cover are modified for the conversion.
• If these parts are sent in beforehand, machining is free of charge, making the conversion much easier.
