Café Racer Rear Frame Brace for Yamaha XJR 1200 & XJR 1300 (1995–2013)
This rear frame brace is designed for Yamaha XJR 1200 and XJR 1300 models with a shortened rear frame for café racer, scrambler or custom bike builds. It securely connects the two shortened rear frame tubes and restores the required stability of the rear section.
The XJR rear frame brace is inserted into the shortened rear frame tubes and then bolted in place. Additional welding is possible, but not required, making it ideal for clean and service-friendly builds.
Your benefits at a glance
- Stable connection of the shortened rear frame tubes
- Bolt-on installation – welding optional
- Mounting points for license plate holders (e.g. Rizoma PT061B)
- Mounts for rear lights
- Designed for oval LED tail lights (e.g. item no. 255-978)
Function & application
When shortening the rear frame for café racer conversions, the original structural connection between the two frame tubes is removed. This rear frame brace restores that connection, stabilises the rear end and provides practical mounting points for license plate holders and tail lights.
Installation
- Shorten the rear frame professionally with clean, square cuts.
- Insert the rear frame brace into both rear frame tubes.
- Align correctly and bolt it in place.
- Optional: additional welding is possible.
Fits the following models
- Yamaha XJR 1200 (1995–1998)
- Yamaha XJR 1300 (1999–2013)
Practical advice (Klaus Goerz)
For café racer rear ends, I recommend planning the license plate holder, tail light and seat line together from the beginning. This results in a clean, classic rear section without compromises in stability or appearance.
